Ways to store & prepare meals in advance for busy people

Are you Busy and always on the run? Feeling like you don’t eat wholesome foods?

People who store & prepare meals in advance usually do it for a weekly basis (mostly prepared on Sunday for the upcoming week). A good and common way to prepare foods in advance would be freezer cooking, this basically is the process of cooking and freezing meals and ingredients for later.

This works best with meals—things like casseroles, soups, stews, and Steamed items.

A great way to pre pack and store your food using either foil baking Trays or plastic containers. Environmentally friendly choices can be used to store food, such as glass containers, bottles and Jars.

Have you ever tried salads in a Jar? Its amazing how well they store and Glass jars are reasonably priced and reusable.

We also have some great Kraft paper pouches which are perfect for freezing Bone broth, Soup and other liquid or solid items. These have a window so viewing the contents is easy.

But for drinks it is probably best to use Glass Bottles or Pouches.

Labelling is very important from two angles: First, it’s always a good idea to know how many days ago something was cooked. Second, in the case of foil-covered pans or storage containers, you generally can’t see clearly what’s inside. Labelling keeps you from having to “break the seal” and peel the foil back or open a container. A Sharpie is a good tool, as it writes as clearly on foil as it does on plastic.

Benefits to freezer cooking:

  • You have something for those days when; One of your children is sick, its been a busy day at the office or its hubbys day to cook.
