15.5mm PET Strapping

Polyester (PET)strapping most closely resembles steel strapping in its physical characteristics. Polyester strapping withstands higher tensioning than other plastic strapping (up to 25% higher), with equivalent break strengths. It will retain tension on rigid loads better than other non-metallic strapping. The minimal elongation properties of polyester strapping further ensure tight straps on setting loads during handling so loads are more stable. If tensioned within the proper limits, it will elongate only 1% to 3% and after tensioning is relieved, it will recover up to 99% of its initial shape.

The other advantages of PET strapping over STEEL strapping include:
  • It does not rust and there is no corrosion staining of the strapped product
  • Its weight is half that of steel which minimises manual handling risks
  • It dcontains more meteres and this reduces coil change frequency
  • It does not have sharp edges therefore reducing the personal injury risk
  • It is environmentally friendly - it can be recycled!
  • It has a higher related tension than STEEL strapping
  • It is elastic - it stretches during application, meaning less strapping is used per pack, resulting in monetary savings!
  • It is weather and UV resistant (it retains its applied tension even in extreme temperatures)
  • It perfoms well under 'shock loading'

What are the advantages of PET strap?
PET strap is stronger per unit of weight than steel strap. One of the strongest types of plastic is PET. It has a safe working load (SWL) range of 500 kg to 722 kg and a high tensile breaking strength. PET strapping is far more reliable than steel straps and is also a safer option.
